About NHA

The National Housing Authority (NHA) is a government organization established in 1971 to develop and regulate housing across Zambia. With a strong commitment to providing affordable and quality housing, NHA plays a vital role in ensuring that every citizen has access to safe and comfortable homes. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to implement housing policies, promote sustainable development, and improve the living conditions of people throughout the Republic. CORE FUNCTIONS

01.

To develop, build, manage and control 
housing estates.

02.

To clear squatter areas and to plan improvement 
and redevelopment of such areas.

03.

To undertake, support and encourage research 
into all housing aspects especially low cost 
housing.

04.

To undertake the management and control of 
Government - owned houses and housing 
estates as may be prescribed from time to time.

05.

The Act further empowers NHA to combine with, join
in or participate in any other way in the business of 
any other person for the purpose of carrying out any
of it’s functions.
